45 101 - D96

     1961. D96 rolls through Warmley in 1961. The train is probably 1O95 Manchester - Bournemouth West "Pines Express" with the headcode not wound correctly

     1973. 45 101 stabled at Gateshead MPD on 27/07/1973

     1977. 45 101 working 1E56 St Pancras - Sheffield to Nottingham, seen at Leicester 30/04/1977.

     1978. The driver awaits "the tip" to get 45 101, and 1M83 1600 Sheffield - St Pancras, underway from Leicester on 23/03/1978.

     1981 or later. 45 101 has been repainted, probably here at Toton TMD after an E exam, looking like it has been prepared for special duties with painted axle box covers.

45 102 - D51

     1963. D51 powers the northbound Thames Clyde Express over the Settle and Carlisle line during 1963. The loco is as-built with small yellow warning panel and taillight grabrails.

1967.  In Toton Blue livery, D51 awaits its next turn at Bristol Bath Road MPD on 10/12/1966.

     1986.  The mighty 45102 passes Draycott on the 11th May 1986 with the 1215 Derby - St Pancras.

45 103 - D116

     1964. 04/07/1964 and D116 has arrived at Derby on a stopping service from Manchester, sharing time with steam loco 78020.

     1973. 45 103 with numbers at both ends of the body, and experiment plate on drivers door, awaits departure from Exeter St Davids with 1E60 1030 Paignton - Leeds on 27/09/1973.

1975. Seen leaving Wellingborough on 08/02/1975, is 45 103 on 1E78 1005 St Pancras - Sheffield.

1984. From late January to August 1984, 45 103 carried oval buffers at No 2 end. Here the loco is cresting Ais Gill summit with a Butterley MRB - Carlisle adex on 25/02/1984.

1984. The No1 end of 45 103 on the same date as the previous photo. The more conventional buffers are seen on the loco as it awaits departure with the return Carlisle - Butterley MRB adex on 25/02/1984.

1986.  45 103 powers past Sunnyhill on the 15th May 1986 working the 0812 Newcastle - Poole.

45 104 - D59

     1974. With a fantastic consist of vans in tow, 45 104 THE ROYAL WARWICKSHIRE FUSILIERS heads east near Moorswater in Cornwall with 4M05 1250 Penzance - Crewe parcels/perishables on 18/07/1974. The loco in BR Blue with full yellow ends and sporting four numbers would be booked to Bristol Temple Meads at this time.

1981. On 04/03/1981 45 104 THE ROYAL WARWICKSHIRE FUSILIERS awaits departure from Exeter SD with 1V71 0738 Leeds - Penzance which it will work to Plymouth. Now fitted with standard flush front and marker lights.

45 105 - D86

  1967. D86. Saltley MPD 21/05/1967

     1968. Having arrived at Sheffield with a terminating service from St Pancras, this March 1968 view of D86 shows the new front end and bottom grille on the side, added at the loco's 1967 refurb. Also just visible, are the erstwhile nameplate bolts for the loco's "ghost" naming.

     1974. Sporting 1V48 in its central headcode panel, and numbered at both ends of the bodyside, 45 105 powers the 0925 Manchester - Penzance past Moorswater on 10/08/1974.

1978. 45 105 after arrival at Sheffield having worked 1E16 0956 ex St Pancras from Nottingham on 20/01/1978. The loco has lost the extra numbers and now has a domino headcode panel.

1985.  45 105 pauses at Stalybridge on the 26th January 1985 while working the 1100 Scarborough - Bangor.

45 106 - D106

     1962. The last running of The Pines Express 1O95 1030am Manchester - Bournemouth West via Bath and the Somerset and Dorset was on 08/09/1962 and is seen here arriving at Bath Green Park in the hands of (then) box headcoded D106.

     1977. No2 end leading, 45 106 accelerates one BG, collected at St Albans, towards Luton on 05/02/1977.

45 107 - D43

     1984.  45 107 is at Plymouth on Sunday 9th September 1984 waiting to take over the 1E37 1245 Penzance - Newcastle.

     1986. Leaving Exeter St Davids on 24/05/1986 is 45 107 on 1V45 0829 Nottingham - Paignton. Not long out of Works, the loco was one of those to have the orange cantrail stripe added as a warning for overhead electric cables.      1987. 45 107 at Hull Paragon with 45 007 whilst working the return 1Z46 Scarborough - Bristol TM Peak Finale railtour on 03/10/1987.

45 108 - D120

      1961. D120 at Preston on a running in trial from Crewe Works before entering traffic in late September 1961.

 1986.  A filthy looking 45 108 is seen at Stenson Junction on the 9th February 1986. This had recently arrived on the 12.15 Derby - St Pancras that was being diverted via Stenson Junction.

45 109 - D85

     1973. Before entering Derby Works for refurb and conversion to 45 109, D85 is seen at Sheffield Midland. The loco would carry the D prefix through to renumbering.

     1985.  45 109 stops at Tiverton Junction with the 0650 Swindon - Penzance in September 1985.

45 110 - D73

     1980. 45 110 passes Wigston South Jct as it races towards St Pancras with a train of air consitioned stock most likely from Sheffield on 12/04/1980. 110 is identifiable, as the other loco that appeared in this Toton-applied livery, 45 121, had a central headcode panel.

1982. Hammering north on 1P18 1404 St Pancras - Derby is 45 110, now repainted into standard Rail Blue livery, on 29/03/1982.
