Just before lunch on September 17th 1984, 45 016 is seen in the deep cutting south of East Leake station heading back to Leicester. 016 would have brought in loaded wagons for the plasterboard factory at Rushcliffe Halt and, with no returning empties to take back, returns to Humberstone Road yard for another local trip in the Leicester area. Almost visible in the distance would be the station at East Leake for this is a remnant of the former Great Central mainline as the gentle alignment attests.
