45 132 - D22

1967. D22 runs away from the stock after arrival at Bristol Temple Meads with 1V31 0735 from Nottingham on 27/06/1967.

1977. Mike Kerry says " Another lovely picture of dear old 45132 this time with four numbers, the additional ones added at Toton. Notice the plates over the damaged side grills where fitters have levered the louvres apart to get a light on an extension lead inside when the loco batteries were too tired to power the 110 volt inspection lights that plug in inside. St.Pancras October 11th 1977. 132 has just backed on to the train as the tail light on the platform suggests." John Goodale also notes that the nearside domino appears to be on clear glass, hence the reflections in it.

1985.  45 132 heads for St. Pancras on February 24th 1985 with the diverted 12.30 Derby - St. Pancras at Swarkestone.

photo Mike Kerry.

1985.  By 29/12/1985, 45 132 has acquired a high intensity headlight as it heads for St. Pancras on with the diverted 1C21 1215 Derby - St. Pancras seen at Market Harborough.

45 133 - D40

1973. D40 at Toton MPD on 09/09/1973. The loco would keep the D prefix until renumbered  45 133 in 1974.

photo Simon Renshaw.

1987. 45 133 inside Holyhead MPD having been failed with flat batteries. The loco was later towed dead by 45103 as part of 1E22 to York, then removed to Tinsley and promptly withdrawn. 09/05/1987.

45 134 - D126

1976. (Almost) sporting the generic 0000 headcode in July 1976 is

1982. Three months have passed since 45 134 visited Motherwell TMD and the domino has all but disappeared in 45134s headcode panel as it slows 1C76 1610 Derby - St Pancras for the stop at Kettering on 26/07/1982

1967. 27/05/1967 was a horrible, wet day. D99 3RD CARABINIER, working 1M24 Bradford Exchange - St Pancras at Derby, is unphased by the pour, as is photographer Anthony F Cole.

45 137 - D56

1962. This rather blurry shot shows D56 on 08/12/1962, just fifteen days after entering traffic. This was the day of its naming ceremony THE BEDFORDSHIRE AND HERTFORDSHIRE REGIMENT(T.A.)  Other than the nameplates, the loco is as-built with small yellow warning panels and taillight grabrails.

BR publicity photo.

1967. This black and white image at Derby on 26/08/1967 captures D56 whilst carrying the blue livery applied at Toton in 1966. Note the lack of BR emblems of either variety, the giveaway that the loco is carrying this livery. Also of note is the plated boiler grille.

1982.  The driver of 45 137 gets the best view he can of the coaching stock of 1E70 1435 Paignton - Leeds that he is about to couple up to here at Gloucester on the 17th April 1982, taking over from 45 063 which had worked the train in.
